Styled: Twisted Wash N' Go

Hey loves,

This weekend while baking I decided to go ahead and get in a simple hair tutorial ( not so simple with a camera ha!) for my go to style at the moment, The great wash and go! with a twist of course lol.

To start I washed my hair with my favorite shampoo Gionvanni's Smooth As Silk : Deep Moisture Shampoo, After that I applied the matching conditioner and proceeded to detangle my hair with it as well. After that I applied Shea Moistures Organic African Black Soap Purification Masque and let it sit under a plastic cap for about 45 mins and then rinsed it out.

After that I sectioned my hair into two and did the L.O.C. method using  Aloe Vera gel mixed with water as my liquid, Hair Veda's Busy Izzy Gets Soft and Shiny hair oil as the oil, and Giovanni's Direct Leave In as my cream. After I applied it to the back section I covered it with a plastic cap and moved to work with the front where I repeated the process and sectioned into two. I twisted each section and pin'd back with a bob pin and tucked the ends under the cap. To finish I just tied a scarf over the front to lay down any fly away's and went about finishing up the baked goods. After all I did was untie the scarf and remove the cap, shake and I was done.

For all you visual learners the video is coming and will show on the side once it's posted.

What's you go to style?

Update: Not Your M♥ther's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Cream

So, I tried again with this product and got great results using it to set my twist/knot out. I was trying to find a way to use it for my hair type since I don't straighten my hair normally. So of course I thought to use it again like I did the last time with the braid out. This is a great alternative to heavier creams and the smell is a bonus. The shine was really good and it set and smoothed my hair better then my normal shea butter mix. I say give it a try and let me know what you think about the products.

You can find them at your local stores such as Walmart, CVS, etc. Just use the store locator found on their site.

Inside The Beauty VoxBox 2012

NYC IndividualEyes Custom Compact
Retail: $4.99

I only like the the two light colors, the two dark colors were not as dark as I thought and the pigmentation was not as good as the other two.

Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit
Retail: $5.99

They were a bit longer than I like but still nice, I would use a different adhesive when I wear them again. It did not hold up while I was dancing. (refer to eye shadow pictures)

Bath & Body Works Mini Candles
Retail $3.50

Love it, I’ve always been a fan of them. The scent I was sent was Pumpkin Cupcake, smells so good OMG.

EBOOST
Retail: prices vary

The taste was ok, they do offer other flavors, I was sent orange. The effect gave me a little boost to my day.

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin
Retail $7.29

Another favorite that I already have so these are a bonus for me. Very easy to use and remove. I do Wish I would have been sent the black ones though.

Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream
Retail $6.00 for full 4oz bottle.

I was sent the smaller size but I do like the products it did help with my braid out but I don’t think it would help with other styles for my hair type. The smell is great.

Influenster Beauty Blogger Voxbox 2012

Video link: Youtube Review
Over all a good box of goodies.
I was so excited to learn that I would be getting my first voxbox. It didn’t take long to get to me. I really enjoyed all the products except the eye shadow, it was very pigmented to me and I had to build it just for it to show good. I really loved the spins pins (wish I was sent the ones for dark hair), candle, and frizz control cream (which smelled very good). The lashes were ok, a bit long for me but good for  dramatic look, however the adhesive that was included was not the best and did not hold up well. The Eboost was ok, the flavor wasn’t one I would have picked, but it worked well.
The good: Bath & body works mini candle, Goody simple styles spin pin, Not your Morther’s Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream.
The bad: NYC Individual Eyes Custom Compact, adhesive that was included in the Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit.
Tips: Buy a better adhesive for lashes, use a color base for the eye shadow.

National Natural Hair Meetup Day 2012

VERY late post but since I'm just starting my blog I thought I'd go ahead and post about this day. The Nashville location was hosted at : Island Breeze Cafe - 936 Gallatin Pike South, Madison, TN 37115

I had such a good time, this was not my first hair meet up but it was the first one that I really enjoyed. It was hosted by : Curlrehab.com who did an amazing job. Everyone had an opportunity to win something even if  your ticket was already called, there weren't any "get money" schemes. All the vendors that showed were enjoyable and professional.

Below are pictures of the swaps I took home, the two giveaways I won, and the early bird swag bag that was given. Pictures from the event will be posted in another post.
